If you are looking into building a wood garage or you are just starting your remodeling project today, it might be worth keeping in mind that you spend a lot of time thinking about what you are doing and why not. This is something that can cause some pain and even frustration when you are trying to decide what to do.
In my own life, I had to make some major changes to my garage because I was putting in a lot of wall-to-wall cabinets (and I am always looking at what I need to do to get more space). While I was able to get a lot of room in my garage without much hassle, I also had to make some major changes so that my garage wasn’t so much of a pain in the ass to deal with.
The problem is that doing something that is not your idea is usually a bad idea. When you give your brain the instructions, and then you forget to follow through, you get yourself into trouble. People think because you say “I’m going to do this,” and then you end up doing it anyway, that it’s okay. But when you think you have to do something, you are going to end up doing it anyway.
If you’re not careful, you can end up doing almost anything. We learned this the hard way a few months back when we bought a house and had to choose between three kitchen cabinets. We had decided to go with the cabinets that were already in place. We thought it was a good look and we were going to put them in anyway. What ended up happening was that we ended up buying a second kitchen cabinet, which was cheaper, but didn’t look as good.
The issue isnt that you end up paying more for something you dont want, it is that you end up paying more for something that you do want. You could have gotten a cabinet that was cheaper, but it would have looked better.

And while I am sure you could have gotten a cabinet that looked great in any color you wanted, most people choose to keep things as they are. I have a couple friends who decided to keep their cabinets simple and dark. Others chose a more sophisticated style in which they add a few interesting details. And yet other people just choose to add a few bright colors to their cabinets.
In this trailer, we’re going to play with some of these characters. I’m sure there are others out there who find a more comfortable way to show off their wood work. Here are some of the characters I’ve picked up.
