In our home we have dark wood floors throughout the kitchen, which I think is very special. It adds a warm, cozy feeling to the kitchen, especially when I cook or when I am reading or watching television.
The reason I’m so obsessed with dark floors is that they come in so many varieties. There’s a range of colors to choose from, from warm to cool tones. And the best part is that it’s affordable. You can add a dark color to the floor that’s not too costly. For example, we have a dark wooden floor that’s stained dark mahogany, so that it looks a bit more like wood. We also have a brownwood floor that’s stained darker brown.
One of my pet peeves in the kitchen is that when I have to use the sink, I have to turn the sink into a black sink. It just feels dirty and wrong. I’m not sure that the term ‘kitchen sink’ is really applicable when talking about a kitchen with a dark finish. While they do have a lot of dark finishes in the kitchen, this kitchen sink is actually a dark one.
