This is perhaps my favorite wooden backdrop to use. It gives you a nice feel that is not as stiff as the acrylics, but still soft and comfortable to touch. And it has the additional benefit of being able to paint it with colors that you would use in your home.
I have seen a number of wooden backdrop kits that are made from plywood and can be painted with any color. I have used one, but have not used it in a home but am still intrigued. The one I own is the one pictured below and I am tempted to buy another for my wall.

There is one more thing I would like to share. We are currently in the process of finding a wooden backdrop to match the one we used to have. This wooden backdrop is from the company we used when we still had our home. The company is actually called Woodcraft Home. They are part of the home decor industry now. They make wooden walls and other accessories.
Okay, I guess I need to come up with a name for this. This is what I found online. It’s a wood-based backdrop that allows you to create a room with a wood theme on it but still has the look and feel of a traditional wooden backdrop with a high quality wood grain finish. There is a lot of info on the product, but it seems like the creators would be willing to send samples of their products to members of the show to test.
This is a great idea. I like the idea of allowing you to get a wood styled room and then having the option of changing it up with the addition of a different wood material. It could be veneered, laminated, or even a laminate floor. There are some pretty big differences in the look of a laminated floor (which looks like it was sprayed) versus a solid wood floor (which is smooth and polished).
Another cool thing that a laminate floor might do is increase the heat retention because the layers of wood are closer together. The laminate layer would have more surface area so it would be able to hold more heat and therefore maintain the temperature in your room.
