I’ve had this piece of wood for almost ten years now. I thought it would be a great addition to a hallway, living room, or entryway. Not only did it last a long time, but I love the look of it. As for the wood itself, I have a friend, who is a builder, who said that he would not use the same wood that I had used.
At first I thought that his comment was a bit harsh, but after checking with a few friends about it, he agreed that the wood was a bit too thin for a standard sized hallway. I’m glad that he didn’t use the same wood though because I now have a beautiful custom wood frame that I love.

First of all, the frame is made out of a really high quality medium birch plywood. I know that it is not for everyone, but it is something that my friend would never use or could not find at a home store.
It’s also very affordable. All of the lumber used in the frame is from a reputable wood supplier and it is 100% recyclable. The only thing that was a hassle was the actual cutting of the plywood for the frame. I think I would have had a problem with it, but I think they solved that by using a router for the actual cutting.
