Don’t Make These Mistakes When Displaying Your Art

Art

You just got a really nice piece of canvas wall art and you want to put it up in your home or office. This might be the first time that you have done that, so you want to make sure that you do it right. How do you do that?

Fortunately, we are here to help you with that. There are a few things to keep in mind. Read on to learn more.

Hang Them At The Right Height

There is the temptation to put the piece really high up on the wall. That makes it better to look at from a distance, right? Possibly, but at the cost of your neck.

You don’t want to have to strain your neck looking up at it if you are up close to it. Also, it can make the ceiling look a lot closer to you as you are observing the artwork. Lower it a bit.

Don’t Just Stick To One Palette

You want the artwork to stand out, not blend with the rest of the room. While having abstract art in a room with rustic decor might clash, you can bring bright colors into a more subtly-hued room. That way, it will automatically draw attention from people as they walk in.

Hang Them Properly

Use the right tools to hang up your artwork. You don’t want a painting hanging on a single solitary nail – that means it will move if there are vibrations around it. Save yourself the time and trouble and find the best equipment to do that for you – no having to constantly readjust the painting later.

Pay Attention To Its Size and How It Fits in the Room

You might have a great piece of wall art, but if you put a tiny piece in a huge room or a large piece in a very small room, it is going to grossly distort both the dimensions of the art and the room. You would be better off putting larger pieces in a larger room or putting a group of small ones in a larger room if you have more than one. That way, you can create a motif of sorts.

These are just some of the things that you need to pay attention to when it comes to hanging up your new wall art. You don’t even need a wall – you could lean it against a shelf, for example. Do what you think is right and enjoy looking at your new purchase.
