This is a project I did for my boyfriend this summer on his new house. We wanted to get a more neutral and neutral floor finish, so I chose grey wash wood. I decided to paint the entire floor black. Not the black and white kind, but the grey and black. I used a grey wash paint and it turned out incredible. I have not had any stains or yellowing issues since.
I think I’m in love with the grey wash wood. I think it’s the finish that truly makes the house shine. For the past year I’ve been painting the floor a semi-neutral white. I am very happy with the result.
The final nail on the coffin is the nail polish. It was painted with a soft cream color, but it still has its polish. I am a little shocked at the amount of polish I can do with it. I’ve always been a bit of a softbox fan myself. The polish is not perfect, but it does make a lot of sense when you consider you can still polish paint over a lot of times.
I know from experience that a soft touch is an extremely difficult thing to achieve. I can’t really nail a hard polish, I can’t even nail a touch of paint. The amount of polish you can do with a paint brush is pretty limited, so the final nail in the coffin is a good thing. Also, from a house decor perspective, this is a pretty good finish. Its colors are consistent, and they have a hint of green in them.
So if your flooring is a soft touch, you might want to invest in a floor polish. They are much more forgiving than paint, and they last a long time.
The thing about wood floors is they are not really a finish. They are just something that gives your house a certain personality. They give the impression of a certain class of home. So if you want something that looks like a home, you might want to go with a soft wood finish.
A soft wood finish is made of natural wood fibers (not man-made), and it is so soft that you can sand it and then it will look like the real thing. It’s very forgiving, and it lasts a long time. On the other hand, you can get fake wood if you want a fake finish. The problem here is that fake wood is not actually wood, but a composite, which is made by putting a wood-like substance in with the actual wood.
So to be clear, fake wood is more expensive than real wood, and if you want a fake finish, you’ll need to buy a fake product. On the other hand, you can get a nice smooth, even surface on a real wood by applying a very thin layer of liquid lacquer, which actually hardens the wood and makes it look as smooth as real wood.
