I think this is a pretty bad idea. You don’t know the purpose of the box and it feels like it might be a trap. It would also be easier to break than to make it into a box, so I would think it would have more potential to be a waste. If nothing else, the box would be a nice surprise.
I agree. I have a small plan to make the box into some sort of storage. I can buy a bunch of different plans online, and I can do it the old fashioned way.
In my case I wanted to make a box that could hold a lot of different things, so I bought a large wood planter box to use as a “box” for my plants. I used the planter box as a base for the plants, and then made one of the planter boxes out of the wood planter boxes.
