You can start by choosing the perfect size. I like to use a 9×12 size for my walls. That’s a good size for a background wall because it gives you lots of room to do whatever you want with it. A larger size is better if you like to change the size of the background so it feels like a painting. You’ll also want to make sure the wood of your background wall isn’t too thick or too thin.

To make sure your wall is the right size, you should cut the wood into a square of about half an inch. This will give you a nice smooth surface to paint over. To apply the paint, I like a paintbrush that is a little longer than the size of my brush. This will allow me to get into the wood with a little more control, which is always a good thing.
