I really only do one thing when I carve my wood: I carve my initials into the wood. You can’t get more self-aware than that.

I have to disagree with this though. The best wood carving fonts are ones that really stand out against the grain of the wood. A lot of wood, especially that is lighter in color, has a tendency to look pretty flat and dull, so it’s really important to make a font that has a bit of color on the tops and bottoms to really make it stand out.

It’s also a good idea to really make your initials into the font you carve them into. Not just the letters, but the shape of them as well. So you can really make a font that looks like a letter from a book, or the name on a sign, or even a sign in a door. I love the typography in a font like this one.

Fonts are not as easy to carve. They tend to require a lot of work and a lot of patience. Most typography programs make it easy to make fonts but some don’t. So if you’re looking for a program that really does it for you, you can go to FontForge, and there is a great collection of fonts that you can choose from.

I’ve worked with a bunch of fonts to create characters for video games, and I have to say that the typefaces in this post are the best I’ve used to date. So much so I’ve also used them to create characters for a game of my own.

Different fonts have different functions but all of them are the same basic font. The same goes for the way fonts are used. For example, most fonts use the standard size and weight rules. But there are plenty of fonts that use fonts that are different sizes, weights, and other rules.
