The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
Again, I can’t stress enough how important this is. We tend to be stuck in the flow of our daily lives, so when we’re not aware of what we’re doing it can have negative effects down the line. But when we’re aware of what we’re doing and can control it, it can have positive impact.

This is exactly what happens to people who are on autopilot. They become so engrossed in their own lives that they forget to control the things that control them. The solution is to remind yourself that you are as much a part of your life as anyone else. Start paying attention to what’s going on around you so that you can do something about it.
You can do that, and it’s a wonderful thing. Not only do you get to control what happens in your life, but you can also control how it happens. So when you’re on autopilot, you can’t help but take things in the direction you’d like to go. You can change your habits, and thus your life, to get in the direction you want.
Yes, you can, but it takes practice and persistence, not just a quick fix. You have to make sure that your autopilot is set up correctly. When youre on autopilot, you can go in any direction you like, but it can’t control you, so you have to be sure that when you stop, youre ready to get back on autopilot. Sometimes going in one direction can be easier than going in another.
This is where we see the difference between a person who is able to learn to control their own autopilot and one who is not able to. Someone who can stop and think about autopilot can’t stop and think about anything. They can only control what happens, the direction that they go.
