wood statue carving

I’ve been carving wooden statues for as long as I can remember. I’ve been to a few schools where I’ve learned the basics before moving on to more formal instruction, but I have to say that wood sculpture has been one of my favorites.

It’s a very simple process, you can practice it for a long time and get good at it. You can’t just sit and watch someone carve a piece of wood that is your favorite. There is a sense of accomplishment in carving.

You can’t do that with any other kind of art.

Its pretty cool, actually. I would say that carving is somewhat of a mental challenge, because its a process that requires a lot of concentration. But it also requires a lot of patience because you need a lot of time, and also a lot of patience because you need to know when to stop and take a break. You dont need to be an artist to master this; you just need to know when to stop and take a break.

In wood carving you need to take a break as well because the wood is constantly changing. It changes every second. You need to be very aware of this because if you take too much time you can damage the wood, and if you take too little time you can damage the wood or even damage your hands.
