The new brick and stone house I’m building isn’t the first for me, but I can’t figure out how to do it right. It just doesn’t feel right. So I’m looking for someone who has done something similar to give me their honest opinion.
I think you can only be a real good builder if you have a good idea. You need to have a good plan, a good set of building materials, and a good team. But for a good builder to get a good building, you also have to have a good foundation. And that foundation is stone and wood.

I’ve got a few different ideas of what could work, but a few of my main concerns are that it might not withstand the elements, that it might not be beautiful, and that the cost would be too much for a new construction. That last concern is a hard one to overcome, but we’ll see what the future brings.
For starters, for new construction, the best thing you can do is select a material that is easy to work with. Wood is probably the least flexible of the materials that you can select. Most wood is actually made from a combination of several different materials, such as cedar, pine, ash, and hickory, so it is highly likely that you will be working with something other than the wood of your choice.
It’s not even just the surface texture that you have to consider though. You have to consider the grain, size, and thickness of the wood that you select for your house. That’s why it’s so important to know what kind of wood you are using, and how you plan on using it.
The reason you might want to consider selecting a different wood for your construction home is because it can affect the finish. Most woods are either stainable or stain resistant (meaning you won’t be able to stain the woods for at least a year, which is very important when selecting a material for the majority of your exterior walls). But there are also woods that are stain resistant but not stainable. For example, cherry wood is the hardest wood you can find and is used for furniture.

The fact that some of the most basic types of furniture we own fall as a result of this is that they tend to do a lot of damage to our furniture. The damage is so intense that it’s hard to imagine how we wouldn’t do some of our furniture damage to our furniture if we were building a new house.
